TTC TRAIL LOVE ’26

We spend a lot of time enjoying our local trails, and it is equally important to ensure that we spend time caring for them. We are kicking off our 2026 TTC season of trail work in the best way we know how – WITH LOVE (and sweat, and rakes, and loppers, and Mcleods, and work gloves!)

THE KENTUCKY GOAL: 1,000 TTC Hours in JULY ’26

DETAILS:

Contact and organize with your local trail organization or trail steward to plan a trail day(s) in JULY (You can participate in an already planned work day or plan your own day. Coordinate with the trail steward, so you work when and where it is needed).

Have an awesome day, ensuring your trails are in great shape. Learn some new skills. Maybe you’ll get first tracks on a new feature or trail change!

Record your hours in Pit Zone.

DON’T STOP THERE:

  • Connect with your local trail organization and let them know you want to know when they are planning trail work days throughout the year.
  • Adopt a section(s) of the trail. Weed eat, clear debris, leaf blow (if permitted). You can do this as a team, a family, or a group of friends. Pick a mile or two and let your trail steward know (they may do a happy dance)!
  • Keep recording your trail hours in Pit Zone!

WHAT COUNTS?

  • Attend a community workshop on a local trail initiative
  • Attend a fiscal court meeting and talk about the team, trails, and funding
  • Clean up trash on a trail in your local park
  • Fix erosion issues on your trail system, if you know how, or get help
  • Work with trail stewards and help them build a new cool feature
  • Become a member of your local trail organization

Keep recording your trail hours in Pit Zone!

Who Can You Partner With?

Civic organizations, school groups, Scout troops, church groups, neighborhood associations — if they love the outdoors and want to make a difference, they’re your people. You can partner with anyone who shares your vision and shows up ready to work. The good news? Kentucky has no shortage of community groups who are exactly that kind of enthusiastic.  Here are a few to get you started!

2025 TEEN TRAIL CORPS TEAM WINNER

“Trail access is a privilege, not a right. Local trails are often designed, built, funded, and maintained by clubs and everyday riders like you. Let’s show our respect for the hard work that makes riding possible. Be part of the long-standing tradition of digging and riding!”
